AED Institute of America is an experienced professional company who’s mission is: “Sharing knowledge, saving lives” – through education, community events and distribution of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). Our ohana (family) is comprised of dedicated doctors, emergency room nurses, lifeguards, firefighters, instructors and individuals who share our passion for saving lives.
AED Institute of America has taken this love of life to the public by promoting the use of AEDs in any location that might need their life-saving benefits. We would be happy to assist your business, organization, school or location in establishing your own Public Access to Defibrillation Program (PAD). AED Institute provides your PAD with everything you need for a successful program – from the site survey and placement of your AEDs, CPR/AED training for your staff or volunteers, policy and procedure education and medical oversight. AED Institute will work with you in creating the best customized program, answer all your questions regarding AEDs and provide you with quality customer service and Aloha.
Pamela Foster, RN, President & CEO. Pamela is the founder of AED Institute of America, has over twenty years of experience in nursing and has spent most of that time as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Recently, she has overseen the State of Hawaii’s Operation Stay’N Alive, the largest Public Access to Defibrillation Program in the nation. She has extensive experience teaching continuing medical education, such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and emergency preparedness. Pamela has a thorough understanding of today’s Emergency Medical System requirements and surrounds herself with people who are first responders in all areas of expertise.

Shannon Foster Nigro, VP & Director of Finance. Shannon is an expert in the education and training of the lay rescuer in CPR, Heartsaver AED, and Heartsaver First Aid. She has a scientific mind and graduated with honors from California State University Fullerton with a bachelors degree in biology and a teaching credential. Although Shannon has a background in science she has taken over the Operation and Administration aspects of the business. Recently, she has been promoted to the position of Director of Finance.

Christine Araujo, RN, Lead Instructor/Instructor Trainer
Christine has an extensive background in critical care nursing, marketing, and program development. She has 10 years experience in the assessment, evaluation, and care of the terminally ill or catastrophic patient. Christine is an expert in the roll of marketing and education services to physicians, case managers, nurses, and families regarding acute medical care. She has been with AED Institute for 4 years and has helped to promote AEDs within her Hawaiian community.

Jennifer Suzuki, Hawaii Office Manager, Media Support & Instructor. Jennifer brings her graphic design and media background, along with nearly two decades of retail management and customer service to the AED Institute team. After leaving high-end retail and starting a small graphic design company in 2008, Jennifer came to AED Institute in 2011 and is in charge of the AED Institute Readiness and Compliance Annual Program which launched in 2012.
